I have plenty of experience tying social media into web projects, and am extremely SEO friendly. Originally being from Bend, Oregon I have worked with some of the best SEO trend setters out there, as well as taken an in depth SEO course through Lynda.com.
As a big advocate of Content Management Systems, I can create custom templates/themes for most of the major CMS solutions (Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, Concrete5, modX, Sitefinity, etc.). While I originally favored Joomla as my preferred CMS, I’ve officially made the switch and definitely lean toward WordPress as my new favorite. I’m still working with Joomla as well, and the system just got even better with the new developments made in the new release of Joomla 1.6. But ultimately for me, it comes down to client usability and I’ve found that clients prefer to administrate a WordPress site above a Joomla site.
My experience with e-commerce solutions includes Magento, ZenCart, osCommerce and Virtuemart to name a few, but my preference (and in my opinion the best platform currently on the market) is either PrestaShop or OpenCart.
I’m all for the advancement of web technology and am definitely riding the HTML5/CSS3 wave. There’s a plethora of new possibilities being made available by these new technologies. I do enjoy both design and development, but if you have designs ready to go I can code them for you. I utilize the jQuery Javascript library in all of my recent projects; it’s amazing to be able to do simple animations and transitions without having to rely on Flash. I have a fairly extensive background in Flash as well, but because of its incompatibility with search engines, I try to guide my clients away from using it when other methods are available.
Utilizing these new HTML5 techniques as well as frameworks such as PhoneGap I also create cross platform smart phone applications. I can use these tools to create an app and then use Ajax requests to access whatever we need. If we need to build out more of an advanced app I have a great team I can collaborate with to meet your larger scale needs.
Generally, I prefer to bid projects on a per project basis as different projects incorporate different functionality and techniques. I have a price sheet I can supply for common projects, but if you’d prefer an hourly rate, we can discuss that too. Just like my project prices, my hourly rates are extremely competitive.
I love talking geek, so if you have any other questions just let me know. You can also grab a copy of my resume right here.
